Made to order IgY that fits your needs
At our chicken antibody production and animal facility, we hold the highest standards specified by Swedish law. Although many of our customers supply us with their antigen of choice, we can also provide services to purify your antigen. To produce custom chicken antibody (IgY), the antigen of choice is used to immunize the chickens according to an immunization protocol that we specifically design based on your antigen, the amount of antigen available, and your intended use of the antibody. If the antigen is poorly immunogenic, it can be conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin, thyroglobulin or a carrier protein to increase the immunogenicity and achieve a better response to immunization.

Chicken immunization and purification of IgY from eggs
A standard immunization and purification schedule takes approximately 12 weeks. Typically, the chickens (chicken white leghorns) are injected with antigen/adjuvant for the first immunization, which is followed by additional booster immunizations. After the immunizations, eggs are collected and the IgY antibody is purified.
Note that the immune response is dependent on the antigen preparation, and therefore, IgY Lab Systems cannot provide any guarantees with regard to antibody titer or specificity. The antibody produced in chicken is delivered as a chicken antibody (IgY) fraction which, upon request, can be affinity purified. The non-purified product contains >90% IgY and 10 to 30 mg IgY/ml. Generally, 1 to 10% is the specific antibody. All customer disclosures are kept confidential, as stipulated by a contract signed by both parties.
